Michelle Batt has been an integral part of Country Wide Insurance Brokers for over 12 years. She started her career in reception and has since taken on various leadership roles, including Area Manager for the Wheatbelt South–Great Southern region in 2021. Recently, she was appointed Executive Manager, where she continues to drive the company’s growth and community engagement.
Living in the rural farming town of Narrogin, WA, Michelle is deeply connected to the farming lifestyle and her rural upbringing. She values the principle of ‘Live where you work to make a real contribution’, which reflects her commitment to her community. Michelle enjoys giving back through her voluntary roles in various school, cultural and sporting groups, strengthening her bond with the local area and its people.
At home, Michelle is supported by her husband and children, and she’s proud to raise her family in the same close-knit community she calls home.
As an Account Manager, Sonia Becker supports the farming and small business communities. Specialising in Farm Insurance, Crop Insurance, Business Insurance and Workers Compensation Insurance, she’s dedicated to helping her clients achieve the best possible outcomes.
Sonia holds a Senior Associate designation with the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and a Diploma of Business from the Australian Institute of Management (NSW & ACT Ltd).
Growing up on a farm in Wyalkatchem, a small town in the Western Australian Wheatbelt, Sonia has always maintained a strong connection to the farming and small business communities she serves. She’s passionate about delivering clear, honest and straightforward communication, and her clients appreciate her direct approach. As her mother often says, ‘If you want an honest answer, ask Sonia.’
Todd Bein is the Area Manager for the Central Midlands, working alongside his Assistant Account Manager to service the region’s broadacre farming operations. He’s passionate about helping clients navigate their insurance needs, especially when challenges arise. One of his most rewarding experiences was assisting clients after TC Seroja hit the WA coastline in April 2021, helping them secure the best possible outcomes for their claims by working closely with insurers and persevering through the process.
Honesty and approachability are at the core of Todd’s work. His clients know that when they contact him, he’ll find the answers, keep them informed, and always have their best interests at heart. Insurance is constantly evolving, and while it’s impossible to know everything all the time, Todd has access to great resources and maintains a strong rapport with colleagues and insurers who are always ready to offer support.
Outside of work, Todd enjoys playing golf and is a passionate Carlton Blues supporter. He also loves exploring Australia by road.
Born and raised in Moora, Todd attended Guildford Grammar before working across a variety of roles, from farm work and family businesses to harvests at CBH and Midalia Steel. He joined CWIB in 2012 and has always lived in the region he serves, which gives him a personal connection to many of his clients through CBH and local sports.
As a Senior Account Broker at Country Wide in Mandurah, Steve Bradmore is committed to providing exceptional general insurance services to his clients, always aiming to exceed their expectations. He’s proud to be regarded as an expert in the industry, having contributed to insurance training material. Steve approaches all work with a helpful attitude, ensuring clients receive the best care and support possible.
Outside of work, Steve spends time with his family, a wonderful wife and two beautiful adult daughters. He enjoys walking his Golden Retriever along the beach and spending weekends away in the campervan.
Having lived in Mandurah for over 20 years, Steve feels honoured to work within the local community, helping to support and guide the people and businesses he’s come to know so well.
With over 20 years of experience in the general insurance industry, Matthew Jones brings extensive knowledge and expertise to his role at Country Wide Insurance Brokers. Before joining CWIB in 2013 as the Perth Branch Manager, he spent 9 years with QBE Insurance, holding various roles in underwriting and relationship management. In 2020, Matthew joined our Executive team and was appointed as a Director in 2022.
Matthew holds a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking), a Graduate Diploma of Financial Services and is a Fellow of The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance. He’s also a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker with the National Insurance Brokers Association.
Outside of work, Matthew is an avid AFL and cricket fan, enjoying these sports with his wife and sons.
With over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, Mark Kent has spent the last 12 years as a Senior Account Manager at Country Wide Insurance Brokers. Mark takes pride in offering expert advice and insurance solutions to a wide range of industries, including small businesses and farming enterprises. His extensive experience has taken him across all parts of WA, assisting clients with their insurance programs. He’s committed to using the knowledge he’s gained to provide the right advice, alongside his colleagues at CWIB, ensuring his clients receive exceptional service.
Outside of work, Mark enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending footy games, playing the occasional round of golf and getting away for a weekend in the caravan. He’s lucky to have a wonderful and supportive wife and three amazing grown-up children who may have moved out but are still very much part of the family’s life. Mark considers himself an easy-going, friendly person, and enjoys nothing more than sharing a drink and a meal with loved ones.
Fiona Kirk specialises in all things agricultural, with a particular focus on providing tailored solutions for farming and related industries. She is Tier 1 accredited in Insurance Broking and has recently secured a major achievement – insuring a historical ‘Huey’ helicopter for biosecurity work, adding a unique aspect to her broad expertise.
Fiona’s approach is grounded in building strong relationships and understanding the unique requirements of her clients. She believes that knowing her clients, customers and colleagues well makes it easier to find the right solutions to meet their needs.
Outside of work, Fiona is a self-proclaimed ‘wannabe farmer’. Over the past six months, she’s purchased a small herd of Highland cattle, turning her hobby farm into a growing passion. It’s her happy place, and each weekend brings new plans to expand her farm. While her kids once joked she’d become a crazy cat lady, Fiona now affectionately embraces the idea of being a ‘crazy cow lady’.
Living in her hometown of Wagin allows Fiona to balance her love for farming with her commitment to supporting the local community, where many of her clients are based. To her, it’s not just work–it’s a social lifestyle that ties her to the land and the people she serves.
With 20 years of experience in the Central Wheatbelt and Avon region, Andrew Knapp is passionate about delivering great service to his clients. As Area Manager, he leads a team dedicated to meeting the needs of local businesses and residents, ensuring everything is done accurately and quickly.
Andrew lives by a simple principle: Treat people as you would like to be treated. This guides his approach to client relationships, ensuring everyone receives the best possible service.
Outside of work, Andrew enjoys traveling, with Las Vegas being a standout destination – especially after visiting The Sphere, which he says is the most amazing thing he’s ever seen. He also loves spending time with his daughters, boating and snorkelling at Garden and Carnac Islands. When he’s travelling, Andrew enjoys discovering new cafes and restaurants with his girlfriend, and they like to relax with movies and shows on Prime and Stan.
Living in the Wheatbelt since 1998, Andrew has strong local ties. He served as a police officer before moving into the insurance industry in 2005. He’s also a committee member and tennis player at the Meckering Sporting Club, staying involved in the community he serves.

Based in Geraldton, Hamish Maclean is an Account Manager working with a wide range of businesses across the Mid West, helping them understand and manage their risk exposures. He builds strong relationships with insurers, researches risk management strategies and explores the best insurance policy options for his clients.
With 20 years of experience in agribusiness across Australia, along with a background in digital marketing and recruitment, Hamish has developed a strong affinity with many business sectors. He believes the key to success in account management is listening to clients, advocating for their needs and–just as importantly–educating them to keep them informed and confident in their insurance decisions.
Outside of work, Hamish enjoys camping, music, spending time with his family and caring for their small flock of chickens. If he can combine all of these together, even better! A fan of wind sports, he’s recently taken up foiling. And, just to set himself apart, Hamish might be the only insurance broker in Australia who doesn’t play golf.
Shane Murray is a Senior Account Manager based in the Wheatbelt, focused on building strong relationships with farm owners and agricultural businesses. He assists with insurance claims and acts as a go-between with insurers, ensuring everything runs smoothly and his clients’ needs are met with care and attention to detail.
Shane is deeply invested in his local community, regularly participating in agricultural shows and events to promote insurance awareness and build trust with the people he serves. By staying connected through local events and initiatives, he’s able to build stronger relationships with his clients, better understanding their unique needs and becoming an even more effective and empathetic broker.
Outside of work, Shane loves playing tennis, staying active and unwinding after a busy week. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, whether it’s over a weekend BBQ with a few beers or teaming up for some yard work.
Having grown up in the region, Shane has a strong bond with the Wheatbelt. His deep connection to the area, along with his local knowledge, means he understands the challenges of rural life and is dedicated to helping his clients navigate them with confidence.
With 25 years of experience in the financial and insurance industry, Bec Osborne is a highly skilled Insurance Broker specialising in the Agricultural and Ag-related industries. Her extensive background in agriculture, combined with her expertise in finance and insurance, enables her to stay ahead of emerging trends, including new technologies like autonomous systems and drones.
Throughout her career, Bec has built a reputation for her problem-solving skills, strategic thinking and strong communication. She goes above and beyond for her clients, continually striving to help their businesses grow and succeed.
Outside of work, Bec is passionate about netball. She’s been a dedicated member of her club, Flames, and was honoured with Life Membership in 2023 after 10 years of active contribution. She continues to play a key role in supporting her club and the wider association.
Although relatively new to the insurance world, Bree Revell brings a service-driven approach to her role as an insurance broker. She’s dedicated to delivering exceptional service and achieving the best results for her clients. Bree’s efficiency and time management are her secret weapons, and she’s always striving to expand her knowledge and skillset to stay ahead of the curve.
Outside of work, Bree enjoys escaping the hustle and bustle by camping under the stars or simply spending time in nature. After all, even the best insurance pros need a break from all the ‘what ifs’!
Mark Smith began his insurance broking career in 1995 in Northam, where he lived for most of his life. He managed the Country Wide Insurance Brokers Northam branch from 1999 until he and his family moved to Busselton in 2014 to join another broking firm. In 2022, Mark rejoined CWIB as a Senior Account Manager and now resides in the Southern Suburbs of Perth.
Mark’s role involves visiting and advising clients across the Perth, Peel, South West and Kimberley regions. With his extensive insurance knowledge and experience, he’s well-equipped to manage the risks for a diverse range of clients, particularly those in commercial business and rural sectors.
Outside of work, Mark enjoys running, caravanning and spending quality time with family and friends.
With over 20 years of experience in the broking industry, Jayi Turnock is dedicated to providing tailored insurance solutions for clients across agriculture, transport, retail and more. Based in our Northam branch, she focuses on building strong, trusting relationships with clients, offering personalised service to ensure they feel confident and secure in their insurance choices.
Outside of work, Jayi enjoys spending time with family and friends, tending to her garden and exploring local farmers markets.
